Rank Functions on Rooted Tree Quivers
نویسنده
چکیده
The free abelian group R(Q) on the set of indecomposable representations of a quiver Q, over a field K, has a ring structure where the multiplication is given by the tensor product. We show that if Q is a rooted tree (an oriented tree with a unique sink), then the ring R(Q)red is a finitely generated Z-module (here R(Q)red is the ring R(Q) modulo the ideal of all nilpotent elements). We will describe the ring R(Q)red explicitly, by studying functors from the category Rep(Q) of representations of Q over K to the category of finite dimensional K-vector spaces.

Quiver Representations of Maximal Rank Type and an Application to Representations of a Quiver with Three Vertices
We introduce the notion of “maximal rank type” for representations of quivers, which requires certain collections of maps involved in the representation to be of maximal rank. We show that real root representations of quivers are of maximal rank type. By using the maximal rank type property and universal extension functors we construct all real root representations of a particular wild quiver w...
متن کاملThe Number of Elements in the Mutation Class of a Quiver of Type Dn
We show that the number of quivers in the mutation class of a quiver of Dynkin type Dn is given by ∑ d|n φ(n/d) ( 2d d ) /(2n) for n ≥ 5. To obtain this formula, we give a correspondence between the quivers in the mutation class and certain rooted trees. Introduction Quiver mutation is an important ingredient in the definition of cluster algebras [FZ1]. It is an operation on quivers, which indu...
متن کاملFlat Covers of Representations of the Quiver
Rooted quivers are quivers that do not contain A∞ ≡ ··· → • → • as a subquiver. The existence of flat covers and cotorsion envelopes for representations of these quivers have been studied by Enochs et al. The main goal of this paper is to prove that flat covers and cotorsion envelopes exist for representations of A∞. We first characterize finitely generated projective representations of A∞. We ...
متن کاملWhen bad things happen to good trees
When the edges in a tree or rooted tree fail with a certain fixed probability, the (greedoid) rank may drop. We compute the expected rank as a polynomial in p and as a real number under the assumption of uniform distribution. We obtain several different expressions for this expected rank polynomial for both trees and rooted trees, one of which is especially simple in each case. We also prove tw...
متن کاملDependence of tree copy functions
The graph copy function when restricted to the set of trees or of rooted trees is called the tree copy function or the rooted tree copy function, respectively. We show that both the set of tree copy functions and the set of rooted tree copy functions are strongly linearly independent. We also show that the set of all tree copy functions are algebraically independent but the set of all rooted tr...
